Project information: Friday Night initiative to tackle underage drinking

Constable Dave Fox and health worker Jackie Sinnet undertake a streetwork approach on a Friday night in Brechin to talk with young people who are drinking underage.

Constable Fox and Jackie Sinnet have been doing the rounds in Brechin on a Friday night in a bid to engage and support young people. Jackie as a health worker can advise on the immediate and related risks of drinking underage. Constable Fox assists Jackie in this activity and although this project is relatively new, feedback shows that young people welcome this contact on the streets at the weekend. Jackie is part of a team who provide confidential advice and support to young people as well as health information and services. These include drop-in facilities in rural areas and town throughout Angus in a variety of venues.
